"One of the most dangerous ones in Africa"

Hippopotamus amphibius

Date / Datum:
4th February 2012

They are one of the most dangerous animals in Africa and don't let get cheated yourself by his leisureliness. His extreme territorial behaviour makes it quite unpredictable and dangerous. It is better to keep a safety distance! It was a dry time as we were in Tanzania so the water level of the rivers was very low. The Hippopodamus come together then in small pools / waterholes. Strains between the animals were preassigned. Enjoy the following selection of photos taken at a Hippo-Pool at Serengeti National Park!
